Terms of Service
Effective date: 23 October 2026
Terms version: 2026-10-23
Introduction and acceptance
Domposer is a visual website builder. These Terms cover access to the editor, accounts, project storage, templates and exports on the Domposer website. The existing Privacy Policy identifies Ian Dunkerley as the owner and data controller.
When Terms acceptance is required, you must explicitly agree to the current version to complete registration or use authenticated project saving, importing and management. We record the version you accept and the time of acceptance. Reading these Terms, opening the Projects modal or having an existing account does not itself constitute agreement. If you do not agree, you can close the prompt, download your existing saved project ZIP files and access account deletion. These Terms apply where a valid agreement has been made.
Eligibility and accounts
Domposer welcomes users of all ages, including younger users, and does not set a blanket minimum age for using the editor or registering an account. Younger users may need permission or assistance from a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law; this does not mean that every younger user can independently enter a legally binding agreement. If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to do so. Email verification confirms access to an email address; it does not establish age or parental consent.
You can use the editor without an account. An account is required to save and manage projects on the server and to import project ZIP files through Projects. Registration verifies your email using a one-time code and asks you to choose a username. Sign-in also uses an emailed one-time code rather than a password.
Provide an email address you control and keep your account information accurate. Protect your email account and sign-in codes, do not share codes, and sign out on shared devices. You are responsible for activity you authorise; this does not make you responsible for unauthorised activity caused by a failure for which Domposer is legally responsible. Contact the owner if you suspect misuse. An email change requires verification of the new address.
Using Domposer
Domposer is currently free to use. You can access and edit your website's HTML, CSS and JavaScript. You can start with a blank canvas or a supplied template, edit website content and styling visually, and export website files. Signed-in users can create, open, rename, describe, save, import and delete their saved projects. Imported project ZIP files must use a format supported by Domposer.
Review and test your exported files, including accessibility, security, third-party resources and suitability for your intended use. Creating, saving or previewing a project does not publish it as a publicly hosted website. Publishing and hosting are not provided by the current project workflow.
Your content and ownership
You retain ownership of websites, code, images and other original content you create or upload. Domposer does not acquire ownership of your content. Ownership of third-party materials remains with their respective rights holders.
You must have permission or another lawful basis to use materials you include, including images, fonts, code and personal information. Follow any applicable licence, attribution and privacy requirements.
You give the operator only the permission needed to store, copy, process and display your project content to provide the editor, project saving, loading, previews, imports and exports you request. This permission is limited to providing the service and handling deletion as described below; it does not grant permission to sell your content, use it in advertising or publish it for others.
Acceptable use
Do not use Domposer for unlawful content or activity, infringement of intellectual property, or violations of others' privacy. Do not upload or distribute malicious code, abuse service resources, bypass access controls, access another user's projects without permission, or attempt to compromise the platform or other users.
Domposer does not undertake to proactively monitor every project. Under these Terms, proportionate restrictions or removal of access or content may be necessary to address unlawful activity, a material breach or a security threat. Where lawful and practical, the owner should explain the reason and allow an opportunity to resolve the issue; urgent protective action may be necessary first. Contact the owner to dispute an action.
Saving, storage and backups
Guest work is held in the current browser's local storage, including browser storage used for images; it is not saved as an account project on the server. Browser data can be cleared, blocked or lost and does not automatically follow you to another browser or device. This describes project saving, not all website data collection: see the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Signed-in users can save project data and associated files to their account on the server. Having an account alone does not mean every edit has reached the server. Check the editor's save status and resolve any save errors.
Standard accounts have a limit of 5 saved projects; the Projects modal shows the applicable quota. Administrator accounts are exempt from that project-count limit. Each server ZIP upload is limited to 1999 KB. No aggregate account storage quota is currently enforced, but storage is not promised to be unlimited.
Export regularly and keep independent backups of important work. Operational backups support service recovery, but browser storage, server saves and backups are not a promise of permanent storage or guaranteed recovery of an individual project. These precautions do not reduce any legal responsibility Domposer has for loss or damage.
Availability and changes
Domposer may be updated or temporarily interrupted by maintenance, faults, security work or circumstances outside the operator's reasonable control. Continuous availability, compatibility with every browser, and a particular support response time are not guaranteed.
Changes may be needed to maintain security, comply with law or improve the editor. Under these Terms, material reductions to existing functionality or storage allowances should be explained in advance with reasonable time to export affected work, where practical. Urgent security or legal action may require shorter notice. This does not permit removal of mandatory consumer rights.
Account and project deletion
You can delete individual saved projects through Projects > Manage. To delete your account, use Projects > Account and the deletion controls: type DELETE, request a code sent to your current email address, then enter the code and repeat the confirmation.
Account deletion removes the account and its saved project records and initiates removal of associated private files and thumbnails. If private-file cleanup fails, removal remains pending for retry; deletion is not a guarantee that every file disappears instantly. Export anything you want to keep first. The application does not offer an undo or recovery mechanism for deleted accounts or projects.
Server deletion does not erase exports or copies stored on your devices, or copies held independently by others. Deleted data may remain in temporary backup copies until those copies expire under the backup rotation arrangements described in the Privacy Policy. Personal-data retention and erasure are addressed in the Privacy Policy, which permits retention where required by applicable legal obligations or other stated lawful grounds and does not specify a universal retention period. The backup rotation period does not apply to all logs, temporary files or other personal data, and does not promise immediate erasure from every copy.
Intellectual property
Your ownership of original project content is separate from rights in Domposer's software, name, branding, interface and supplied materials. Those rights remain with their respective owners. Using the editor does not transfer ownership of them to you.
The Starter and Portfolio template designs and code were generated specifically for Domposer. You may customise and export these original designs and code for personal or commercial projects. Third-party fonts, images, libraries and other assets remain subject to their respective licences and belong to their respective rights holders. Follow those licences when using or distributing exports; these terms do not replace them or grant rights the operator does not hold.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer rights, including applicable rights to reasonable care and skill and statutory remedies, remain unaffected.
Subject to those rights, the operator is responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of a breach of the agreement or a failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence or was reasonably contemplated when the agreement was made. The operator is not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or for problems caused solely by your unlawful use or unauthorised changes unrelated to any fault by the operator.
These Terms do not impose a financial cap on liability.
Changes to these terms
We will publish dated revisions on this page and explain material changes through a notice on the website. The notice will state the reason for the change and its effective date, allowing reasonable time to review it and export work or close an account before it takes effect. Urgent legal or security changes may require shorter notice, with an explanation.
Revisions apply prospectively and do not remove accrued or mandatory rights. When acceptance is required for a new version, you will be prompted to agree before using authenticated project features. Displaying a revision alone does not establish acceptance. You can decline and retain access to saved project downloads and account deletion.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. This choice does not deprive consumers of mandatory protections available under the law of their country of residence or restrict any right to bring proceedings in courts available to them under applicable law.
